Voted off the island

Someone tell me this is bullshit. After ONE game, just ONE in which I didnt even get to play much cause I had to sit through a combat I'm told the group I had just joined voted on me and it wasn't unanimous so I was voted "off". That is complete bullshit. And before someone says "well maybe you were rude", No, I wasn't. We were laughing and joking a lot and getting along. The only problem I can tell is when I said I had voted for the opposite person they voted for in the elections they got upset. They seemed to not like that and got a little upset. But if your so fucking petty as to vote someone out of your group cause they voted for the other guy? That's childish. Now of course I'm assuming but I think someone who votes someone out after ONE game is bound to be very superficial. I mean how the hell can you get to know anyone at all if you meet them once? There are so many factors that influence how people act. I had hoped I had found some new friends to gmae with and hang out with. Instead I found more bullshit. I think I want to quit gaming. I am SICK of the scum and idiots I must deal with. Sick of people getting to judge me to join their little clique but I can't judge anyone else, no no. BULLSHIT. Gaming is such a waste of fucking time anyway. I sit and pretend when I should be living and doing something. I mean shit I'm diabetic and lazy and gaming doesnt help. I'm tired of it all. Don't tell me I'm wrong, just offer some support if you comment at all.

I don't know what kind of a situation you were "voted out" of, so I'm not sure how best to support you.

However, I'm going to guess that you tried to join a game where the existing participants had to unanimously agree to let you join? If that's the case -- I will note that "it wasn't unanimous" means that some people voted for you, but not all did. In fact, the people who didn't vote for you may have simply been indifferent on the matter, but the rules are that you have to have 100% Yes to let someone in, then even someone saying "Meh" could have to be translated as a negative. Furthermore, all it takes is one person to say No or I-Don't-Know for it to "not be unanimous" -- only one person to be petty and childish -- so I wouldn't necessarily blame the whole group.

I am not trying to tell you that you are wrong, because obviously you understand the situation a great deal better than I do. But I usually find it helps me feel better about things when I put them in that kind of perspective. I find it easier to accept that one person is a dork and nine are somehow obligated to put up with the dorkishness, than to believe that ten people are dorks.

But you know what? Even if that group was all petty, childish dorks, I don't think they're a reason you should give up gaming. If you still enjoy it, I think you should keep it up... but I think you should keep it in the proper perspective. I wouldn't walk into a game expecting that everyone there is going to be Your New Bestest Friends, 'cause that just ain't gonna happen. (Tangental thought: you mention that this group hardly got a chance to know you -- it's entirely possible that once you got to know them you wouldn't like them either. If they truly are petty childish dorks, then they may have just inadvertently done you a favor!)

Just be patient. Unfortunately the dorks and brats of the world are in the majority; you'll have to sift through a lot of crap to find good people. Finding a good group to be friends with takes hard work. Hang in there, and you'll be okay.

They never let me know at any time that I would be voted on. There was no indication whatsoever. That's what Im pissed about. And that they think themselves such experts on character that one game in which I hardly even got to play was such a good idea of who I am. I honetsly do think its who I voted for. They seem that damned petty. One of them I asked about it and told how petty I said it was told that people who disrespect him tend to get hurt.

Thats sad. Fucking sad ass white boy trying to act like a gangsta. No I think I could have liked them had they not decided they were such imbecible judges of my character after meeting me a whole one time. Sorry but I at least think a break from gaming would do me good. Im sick of the type of people I must interact with in gaming.

Based on your post

I'm assuming this is a complete group of near-strangers. If they don't want you in their game, it's their perogative. Fuck 'em, forget 'em and move on. Find a group that doesn't insulate itself behind cliqish "votes" and other bullshit P/A screening techniques. You don't need 'em.

Oh yeah, and would it kill you to visit when I'm at your mom's once in a while?
